Trying to switch to 9.1

Last weekend I upgraded to OS 9.1 from 8.6 using an iMac system disk. 
I ended up switching back, because I couldn't get it to run with any 
extensions except "9.1 All."

I'm going to try it again this weekend with a Clean Install.

Does anybody know of any extensions that I am probably using under 
8.6 that that will stop 9.1? How about Apple's 4400 ATA INIT? I have 
a 4000/200 with a Metabox G3 card. Any problems with Metabox and 9.1?
