I use the CD-ROM ToolKit Extension 4.0 by FWB software (copyright
1993-1999) (size: 420 K) with my Teac cd drive- it's not the original CD
drive but a faster one (32x) I replaced the original with when it died. I
think I used the same driver w/ the original cd drive also. I never have any
trouble w/ it not being able to read any CDs either factory or burned.
I also have the newer Apple CD/DVD Driver version 1.4.5, but have it
disabled (turned off).
Now running OS 9.1 in my 'Max, but had the same setup under 8.6.
I also have a CD burner which, when burned cds are placed in it, the starmax
often won't list all the tracks properly, even though it burned them, while
when the disc is placed in the TEAC drive, it shows all the tracks listed
correctly. I havent been able to figure that out, but it's not a problem
since I play them in the Teac drive anyway.
