If your SM has the original CD-ROM (my 5500 has the original TEAC model on
the internal SCSI bus), you need the old Apple driver 5.3.1. It came with
the original SM software, but also is freely available on-line. The TEAC
will not work with any other Apple driver.

Using 5.3.1, my TEAC works like a champ for most things.

However.......... there are some CDs that I have created on an Imation CDRW
(also in my 5500) that can not be seen by my TEAC even using the 5.3.1
driver.

I don't concern myself with this since the Imation can read them.
