> What brands of ethernet cards will work (I know Asante has one).

Quite a lot of network cards have RealTek chipsets, but not necessarily any
Mac drivers - you just install RealTek's Mac driver for that chipset from
their website. I've got an Allied Telesyn AT-2500TX card in this, and while
it has no Mac drivers, I have the "RTL8139x Driver" extension installed for
all RealTek 8319-based cards and that works.

Being in the US, you'll probably be able to get one of the cards that,
hopefully, other list members will be forthcoming to name. If no-one does,
or you can't find them (being in the UK, I had no access to any of the cards
anyone listed, sadly, or seemingly any other reasonably-priced Mac ones),
try finding any RealTek-based card which has a RealTek Mac driver for it.

In the end, I did find a cheap Mac-compatible one (it wasn't - I wrote on
the order form that it had to be Mac compatible (despite their order site
saying that it was, I had a feeling that it wasn't, possibly from research),
and they phoned and offered to send, instead, one that was - didn't cost
much more).

Something I should ask the list - is it normal for music on the machine to
temporarily cut out if I do something like scroll the screen while there is
high speed network access taking place? Or is my driver just acting up?
