Just to add to this (and show off!) I've just added a 6Gb 2.5" IDE laptop HD
into my SM 3000. I had to get a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and work out the
wiring, but it worked fine and now have it as my boot disk with OS9.1.

I had a little fun with the original internal disk, in that it had a master
jumper on it. Once I took it off I could have the 2 disks in there (one
instead of the CD).

I just need to sort out the junk from the original internal and now
redundant external SCSI, then put the CD back in. I should be able to get
rid of the old disks and have a machine that sleeps "quietly".

Life in the old dog yet.
