Tom,
I'm not exactly certain what you mean by "docking", but I have connected a number of different computers to my StarMax with a standard serial printer cable and AppleTalk. That included my old Apple //gs. The gs' Appletalk wasn't very robust, but I was able to move files back and forth--slowly.

Using Google to locate an old site titled something like "Two Macs and a Printer" didn't turn up the one I remember immediately, but you might try <http://www.vision.net.au/~apaterson/computer/mac_networking.htm> for starters. You can do the search yourself and pick one that most closely approximates your needs.

Best wishes and let us know if this works for you.
Paul
