This has probably been discussed before but here goes. I am looking on
ebay at an Acard AEC A7720U SCSI to IDE adapter. It is a buy it now
for $24.95. Has anyone had any experience with it on the Starmax? I
checked Acard's website for more info and no mention was made of Mac
support but it seems like the kind of thing that might be dumb enough to
not care what OS is being used. While on the Acard site I looked at
some of their other products and found a PCI ATA133 card that is
supposed to work under MacOS 8.5 and up. It says it was made with the
G3 and G4 in mind. It is around $70.00 and would support 4 drives while
the SCSI adapter above will only support one. Same question about this
one. Will it work? I can see possibilities for it driving a dvdr deck
or some such as well as a hard drive and maybe even use my 250 IDE zip
drive a little more effectively. That leads to another question. What
success has there been burning dvds on the SM? Is that stretching an
itty bitty thing a little too far? Thanks in advance for any help.
