I've come against the same problem with a 9.1 iMac install disk ( gray) that came in an 8600/300 I purchased off of eBay last year..If this is a bootleg, it is a very good copy. It is easily accessable in my eMac (mounts and is readable) and seems to have an original apple label (orange) on the top. I have printed enough labels to know what a fake looks like, and if this is a fake, it's one of the best I ever saw. The disk is listed as being for an iMac, but that shouldn't stop it from working in my Starmax with the Sonnet G3 should it?? Ken
Ken,
While it would install on the 8600, my 9500 and both G3's there was no joy with my G3 upgraded 6500 or upgraded 7200(7300).
These disks seem to be somewhat machine specific.. Or more over for certain groupings of machines rather..
