Starmax only takes one drive on each IDE cable. Others have to be SCSI or use a PCI card.

OK .... How do I get two hard drives to work in my Starmax 3000/4000 with
Sonnet G3? I installed both on the IDE with a dual connect cable, and the
computer would not recognize either one. (Refused to boot, looking for disk
icon shown). I disconnected one of the drives and the other one booted, so I
know the cable was good.

I am thinking that I will take the SCSI port and put in a SCSI CD-ROM drive and
put the other hard drive on the second IDE.

Is this the only way or am I missing something here.

BTW, anyone know where I can download a Starmax manual?

Have you got the jumper settings right on the drives; their IDs correct?

The drive at the end of the chain is the only "terminated" one.

How about the "spin up" settings?
