First, a happy new year! I am using Netscape 4.6 on both my G3 and my StarMax currently. I also am trying to look at newer and better and alternative's, yet not Microsoft anything. I have not gotten into the year yet to start changing, but will.
I noticed that some web pages just explained that my version number of Netscape was really no longer 'man' enough to warrant looking at their pages. X seems to be the next ruler, ho hum! I have used 4.6 since it first came out and it has worked fine on the starMax on every upgrade of the OS. However, the next enlightened netscape, which, if I remember, was seven, was utter rubbish. Crashware exclusive rubbish, all looks and no difference, yet not as good by half! I have taken my 'Max to 9.1 and stopped. Running it on its original configuration processor with an addition USB/firwire card now. It is an excellent drawing machine for me still, so it has loads of use left! I am concluding that the days of the internet and web for the 'Max are numbered (without G3 upgrading) in favor of the new dominant OS, which is X whatever!
