Lionel, It may depend on which version of Starry Night you are running (Pro? Deluxe?) and computer platform (MAC or Windows). I found a similar problem when upgrading from Pro 3.0.2 and it turned out to be that I modified the settings in the wrong (Windows) folder. You should change the number of satellites and number of satellite labels parameters in the ...\Starry Night Pro\Starry Night Pro Data\Prefs\Pro\prefs.txt file. Not the file in ....\Starry Night Pro Data\Prefs\SN Pro Prefs.txt (assuming you are running SN Pro). Also make sure that your satellite database text file is current. The database on my CD is over a year old and even the geostationary satellites will appear in the wrong place if you use the CD file. You can get current data from the NORAD databases at http:\\celestrak.com. Another thing is to check that your satellite labels 'display when dim' option is enabled. I forget: What I mean about the possible bug is that all satellites in the databases are not showing up. I set all TVRO satellites and only a few on the east side are coming on the screen. No west satellites are visible, and they are ALL in the satellite.txt file Lionel > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Lionel > Remigio > Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2000 5:54 PM > To: Starry Night Discussion > Subject: [Starry Night] Satellite.txt Database bug in 3.11? > > > After upgrading to the new version 3.11 I I test satellite.txt > many times in > order to get this feature working without results. > > Back to normal CD version, Satellite.txt Database is running fine and this > looks to me like version 3.11 has a bug .
