I know that rhel 5 has some infrastructure to support stateless linux.

In a nutshell, we can modify /etc/sysconfig/readonly-root and /etc/rwtab
to specify what should be mounted with a tmpfs partition. mkinitrd can
be used to create an initrd that can mount an NFS export and switchroot
into it. The difficulties users may have setting it up consists of
configuring the server, and installing the OS into a directory so that
it can be exported.

s%29 written mostly by Jeffery Law from Red Hat contains quite a bit of
useful information on how to set things up. Personally, I opted to skip
the cobbler and puppet, and configured the server manually. Jeffrey Law
is probably the best person to ask to find the status of Fedora
Stateless.

Good question, Shawn.
I would like to know that too.
