Guys, please let's not argue too much!
As you noticed, I've been very busy during the last months and still
am (new wife, new house, new land, new job), and it's more or less the
same for Matthew.

Like Bogdan, I also didn't like too much the way the last releases
were done, but I feel more guilty about it than angry because I was
not helping at all, and I really appreciate the efforts made by Alex
and Tim. I think you guys should go on with the next release, even if
everything is not perfect, but we should try all together to make it
look more "official".
Mostly this means that you should follow the release checklist:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0At02hwiDDfqgdG9qSS16ZkExbjI0UVBGVi12VENQNnc&hl=en_GB#gid=3
and as Bogdan said be careful to discuss these things on the mailing
list to avoid surprising developers who don't stay on IRC.

I also recently gave Bogdan full admin rights on the sourceforge
project so that you guys don't be blocked even if I and Matthew are
unresponsive, and because I trust him completely.

So to summarize, please don't be afraid to go forward even without me,
but do it with Bogdan, and don't make half release but rather full
official releases so that users and developers all understand what's
going on.
Thanks!
Fabien

All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a
definitive record of customers, application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
