Communists vow strong presence in Genoa G8 protests.

ATHENS -- Representatives of 54 communist parties meeting here at the
weekend have decided to turn out in force at protests planned during the
Group of Eight summit in Genoa next month, a Greek communist party
official said Wednesday.

"We unanimously decided to give particular importance to the Genoa
meeting and to work to ensure the largest possible turnout from
communist parties," said Orestis Kolozov, a leader of the Greek
Communist Party KKE.

Communist and workers' parties from 41 countries including Russia, Cuba,
Spain, Italy, Portugal and Colombia attended the meeting at Athens
university.
