thanks for the info. unfortunately it didn't work. while i was investigating though I found something in my tools header in "system info" ( programs>accessories>sysetm tools>system info>tools bar) called "Dr. Watson for Windows". Is this from Microsoft (or Dell) or do you think this is part of my viral problem?
