Mot sure if the errors I've been seeing are the exact same, but:
Reverting my 3801E from:
FW 1.29.00 P17
to
FW 1.26.00
BIOS 6.24.00
seems to have solved the similar issues my MPT (handling my tape autoloader)
had under OpenSolaris and FreeBSD.
>From the FreeBSD boot dmesg, the "new" (P17) firmware had:
Mar 14 10:35:56 storage kernel: mpt0: MPI Version=1.5.20.0
and the older firmware was:
Mar 14 15:07:00 storage kernel: mpt0: MPI Version=1.5.19.0
I haven't yet tested this in OpenSolaris, but you might want to try it. The
older firmware is under "archived" over at the LSI site.
