I'm sorry to be a bug (of the newbie sort) but when you say "boot 
up up your "other" linux and install lilo in the partition record" what 
do you mean?  I suppose you could say RTFM but, honestly, I 
haven't come across this subject in the M.  ;-)  Do you mean if I 
installed, say RedHat, and / is mounted on hda7, that is where the 
lilo should be installed??
If you have the time, I'd appreciate the advice.  Thanks for your time.
