Yeap and here is how you do it.You open the existing /etc/lilo.conf with
the editor of your choice then you change the first lines like this:
root=/dev/hda2
boot=/dev/hda2
save and rerun lilo.
This will install lilo in the partition record.Just make sure it's not
hda7.
In linux hda 1234 are primary partitions.hda 5-x are logical.
lilo will not install itself on a logical partition.For those cases I
use
nuni,it's a small boot loader that works great-you can get it from my
web-page
or you can use grub which will replace lilo in the next Debian
release(woody) AFAIK(saw it once in debian-devel).Well enough with
bubbling around the
subject. :-)
