Maybe you should e-mail the manufacturers of your Laptop...

I have been working through console since I can not use the mouse. I also
tried a serial mouse but it just does not work. And no unfortunately it was
not detected during install(trackball)... But I just tried what you
mentioned and no go.... I will keep trying, And thank you very much for
