BlackboxStorm Linux does not actually have a graphical login screen. You are referring to either: KDM (K Display Manager), GDM (GNOME Display Manager) or
-------
I just installed blackbox. How can I get black box to start? My default
login is KDE, so I hit <ctrl>+<alt>+<f1> to get to a console login. I login, and
then type blackbox. I get an error like cannot communitcate with xserver 0:0. I
hope this is specific enough. How would I add blackbox to the session menu on
storm' s graphical (gdm) login screen?*note: I do not wish to use bb as my window manager for KDE, I simply wich to run
bb w/o a desktop.
XDM (X Display Manager).
If you boot into an X login screen, an X session is already running. If you switch to a console and try to execute
blackbox you will get errors like that because GDM is running in X.
You can add blackbox to the list of sessions in the GDM login screen by doing the following:
cd /etc/gdm/Sessions
ln Debian blackbox
(adds blackbox as an option in GDM so that you can choose it at login)
