The thing with the HP scanners is some of them support SANE and some do not.
You have to be extremely careful when picking an HP scanner. Read the USB
docs and other USB links or you will be disappointed.
For example, the HP4200C works with sane but the HP5200C does not neither
does the HP3300C (I think that's right, I don't have the docs in front of
me, going from memory only).
I'm glad you got it working. Congrats. Now to get my USB scanner working.
But I have an AGFA 1212u so I don't need to go through as many steps as you
did ;-)
