After inserting the module, check the system logs to see if the card has
been detected correctly. ("tail /var/log/messages" and "dmesg" will show
you two related system logs).
If your card is detected, you can use ifconfig to set the parameters (if
you're command-line oriented and like to know the nitty-gritty) or, since
you're using Storm, why not use "sas" to detect and configure the card from
the start?
Will you be using dhcp or a static IP address?

Subject: [SLU] ethernet installation
I have sort of reciently come into the Linux world so I hope this isn't
a real stupid question. I just installed a Intel Pro/10+ ethernet card
into my Linux machine (which has never had one before). I set the IO
address to 0x310 and the IRQ to 5 and disabled PnP, I belive the correct
driver module is eepro.o. I am unable to get the system to recognise
the card. I know it works because if I boot to DOS/Win3.11 on the same
computer it will run. I'm am using modprobe eepro.o io=0x310 irq=5 to
load the module. It seems to work but then I don't know how to activate
the card.
Thanks,
Mike Cook
