Well, I found the solution to my problem. It was the Helix libgtk1.2-dev package that was messing things up for me. I went to the Helixcode web site and ran an update from their install page. That pulled in the dev packages that work with Helix Gnome. Sawfish 'got broke' in the process, it was held back by apt-get, so I did a dist-upgrade. That got sawfish working again, so I gave ./configure for TerminatorX a shot, and it worked like champ! Now here's the really fun part.. I finally got the MP3 scratching app installed, and it seems that the Helix update broke my sound card setup!!
