i was getting that error as well -- i had to look at the sources list and
saw all the ftp sources were commented out --
i uncommented them - apt-get update -
then installed
worked just fine for me

Subject: [SLU] Trouble installing SSH

Okay, I tried using 'apt-get install ssh' and got the following error:

Package ssh has no available version, but exists in the database. This
typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never
uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of
sources.list.

I have not made any modifications to a 2.05 install at this point. Is
there something I am doing wrong, or leaving out?
