Quick intro:I downloaded the latest Stormix iso 'cause I needed a CD and
reinstalled from scratch
after I switched my HDD around.I'll list here just the problems
1.Partitioning tool :huge problems
wouldn't mount a / from my first HDD .It insisted on the second one .Not
even creating the partitions
on the console with cfdisk wouldn fix the issue.Disconecting the second
HDD fixed it.
2.Too few options at packages .I think giving the regular options in
Debian -workstation ,server..would
be a good thing.
3.Didn't set up the writer using the SCSI emulation ,nor did I have the
option to give the option to lilo.(Mandrake does it). This is bad since
it mean I'll have to rerun lilo.On my computer at work ,running
lilo a few times took out the W2K boot loader(easy to fix after you boot
with the W2K CD and read the help at each program-took about 20
minutes).
4.What't that "indexing the CD for packages" ? I gave up after 2
minutes!Debian needs about 5 seconds to
read the cdlabel. No error messages ,nothing.
5.There should be a back/stop button after choosing tghe install
profile.I pressed by mistake standard
cause I just couldn't believe there is no minimal or workstation
profile.Needless to say killing the xserver didn't do anything ,umount
siad that /target is busy .I rebooted and started from scratch.
6.There was no option in custom to select kde-packages -just gnome (I
choose gnome default but with
kde).
Well I would agree that except point 1 the rest are just annoyances but
still.
I could run sfdisk -l on both HDD if needed for more info.
