Hi,
I've not found this in a faq or what-have-you, so I hope someone on here
can help. One of my Storm installs cannot print from acroread. There are
no error messages on standard out or standard error, nothing gets logged
in the /var/log files (I created one called complete that logs
everything).
The user can print to a file (which writes a postscript file) and then
print the file via lp and the file prints fine. Printing from within
staroffice and netscape works fine.
Printing goes to a print server - there are no error messages in the
printserver logs either.
In fact, it looks like the job never gets submitted to the print queue
because if you do an lpq you never see reference to that job at all.
The problem is not user specific - I blew away .acrorc and the problem
persisted. I tried adding a new user to the machine and that login has the
same problem.
I restarted lprng. I verified that /etc/printcap is the same as it is on
other machines.
I did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade on the machine.
I am not sure what else I can do. Has anyone else encountered this
problem?
