I found: apt-get install gxset; gxset ->*note the screensaver tab!
Stupid question:
How can I shut down my x server? Whenever I do a ctrl-alt-bkspc, x just
starts right back up again. I think this has something to do with gdm.
How can I prevent gdm from restarting x, when I don't want it running?
Reason I want to do this: Going home for holidays. From parent's house
I would like to ssh into my machine, start vncserver, then open up a
vncveiwer on local machine. but I know if gdm is running, I
ctrl-alt-F2orF2etc, and I type startx, it says that it cannont connect
to server. Does this make any sense to anyone out there?
