Greetings! On behalf of CNU Minnesota and the Students for New Urbanism at the University of Minnesota, I would like to invite you to the panel discussion entitled, "Toward a Better Urbanism: Transit, Where Will it Take Us?" that will take place on Friday, April 29th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in the CALA Auditorium of Ralph Rapson Hall (U of M campus, East Bank). Robert Cervero, Professor of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley is the keynote panelist. Phil Langdon, Senior Editor of the New Urban News, will moderate the discussion, based on two case studies: the Bloomington Central Station Project along the Hiawatha LRT, presented by Greg Miller of McGough Companies Development; and the Commuter Rail Transit Village planning effort in Anoka, shared by the Mayor of Anoka, Bjorn Skogquist. In addition, Frank Hornstein of the Minnesota House of Representatives will provide his expertise of transportation policy and Fred Dock, of Meyer Mohhaddes & Associates will add expertise on street design. Following the event, guests and speakers are welcome to mingle and enjoy refreshments in CALA's HGA gallery. Please forward this along to your co-workers, friends and neighbors. Admission is free, but arrive early for the best seats. The event flyer is attached, but feel free to email me with any questions. I look forward to seeing you then!
