Just my 2 cents - I think that if You have many action fields that are not used in some of the events, Your action is too big and should be split.
Solutions to the problem involving additional annotations and other ways of duplicating field names in another configuration structures seem ugly to me -- they just add more complexity to a complex action bean that should be simplified instead so it remains maintainable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Beautiful is writing same markup.
