Part of that (I hope :-) is that I deliberately tried to establish a
friendlier tone and culture when the "Struts community" was first
establishing itself -- like many, I found it tiresome to be ignored or
(worse) chastised for being stupid on other lists.  So I've tried to lead
by example and answer as many questions as I have time for, as well as
discouraging the flaming that is common elsewhere.

Part of it is that STRUTS-USER is the second largest Jakarta user mailing
list (around 1750 or so), just below TOMCAT-USER in size.  Having lots of
people around lets lots of people share their experiences and ideas.

The biggest part, though (as someone else pointed out) is that Struts has
attracted a very cool group of people, and it really pleases me to
interact with them -- especially on Fridays :-)
