i can confirm the above.

Dirk, i found this:

at the bottom there is a comment:
"When using the QtPrintSupport module, one should add the content of
the plugins/printsupport folder when deploying. If the plugin is
missing, only Qt’s pdf printer will be available."

copying my local setup "qt/plugins/printsupport" to
"subsurface/plugins/printsupport" doesn't help, but my DLLs are
version 5.3.0 and not 5.3.1.
i guess if you deploy with the "printsupport" folder the above issue
should be gone.
