Hi, Don Christensen,

There is no change in the orientation of the date scale of an
analemmatic dial located in the Southern Hemisphere. The
dates/declinations from the March Equinox through the September Equinox
are always North of the center line (6 am/ 6pm) line, with the June
Solstice being the northern most date/declination indicated. The months
of South declination of the Sun are always south of the center line of
the dial, with the December Solstice being the most southerly
date/declination on the date scale.

NB, referring to the "top" and "bottom" of a dial plate can be confusing
to someone who does not know how you stand when looking at it. Compass
directions, though, are the same irrespective of which way one is facing
when looking at a dial.

Tom McHugh
