Hello-- I was in a garden shop recently and noticed they had 8 brass or bronze sundials on display, with half of the gnomons mounted backwards. At a quick glance, these were sundials which would work reasonably well if the gnomon were installed correctly.
But how about the sundials on this web page? http://www.kspgardening.com/sundial3.htm Here we see an assortment of flaws, including backward gnomons. No wonder some of the public believe sundial time is a joke! I especially wonder how the triangular sundial (see small attached image) was designed to function. Best wishes, Mac Attachment converted: Macintosh HD:Triangle.jpg (JPEG/BOBO) (00041AB1)
