In the Dec. 18, edition of the Austin (Texas) Statesman, columnist Mark Lisheron comments on a ban on the use of navigation devices while driving. I am making some broad inferences, but I think what he saying is that a ban on using GPS devices will only cause people to drive with sextants and astrolabes in their laps in order to navigate.
Someone needs to come up with a mobile sundial to complete the picture.
