Another possible solution is to write a small dtlogin session-script to spawn rdesktop. So you login to the "rdesktop"-session, and when rdesktop exits, you are back at the dtlogin window. This is really simple, and I have some working scripts lying around somewhere... If you want them, I'll go searching them.
