Using kiosk mode did the trick. We got some scripts to launch rdesktop and to enable Windows to lock as well so it works great. Thanks for the suggestions!

Another possible solution is to write a small dtlogin session-script
to spawn rdesktop. So you login to the "rdesktop"-session, and when
rdesktop exits, you are back at the dtlogin window. This is really
simple, and I have some working scripts lying around somewhere...
If you want them, I'll go searching them.
