I'm using a HP PSC 2510 It has a network interface (as well as usb) - it's a nice little multifunction printer/scanner/fax. To my surprise, it had a web interface which allows you to scan stuff without needing to configure usb.
So - on your sunray you just browse (using mozilla) to the printer (http://printer.homenetwork), click preview, scan (as pdf, jpg, etc etc). It works well !! I've configured it to print with both CUPS (sun JDS 2 + Sunray) and Sun Printer thingy (Sol 10 + Sunray) So - back to your original question, I'm not using the USB functionality, but having the network printer/scanner has saved me lots of pain, especially with a couple of laptops (windows) in the house Simon ----- Original Message ----- From: sunlist <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tuesday, April 4, 2006 3:54 pm Subject: [SunRay-Users] usb scanners and SunRay's > > > Software - From searching the archives, I know that this subject > has > been discussed in the past.
