It just disappears while you're typing into it? Which desktop
had you logged in to? If you log in to the "Failsafe" desktop
do you still get logged out after a few seconds?

- If I log in to the SunRay server with a card, and remove my card:
++ if I reinsert the card within a few minutes, I still have my session
++ if I reinsert the care AFTER a few minutes, the session has been
logged out, I have the login prompt
- I can login to another server from the SunRay login (remote login
option) with a token card, I can remove my card and the session persists
indefinately

Either the Sun Ray additions have not been spliced into the
end of the /usr/dt/config/Xstartup script, and/or you have a local
/etc/dt/config/Xstartup that is being executed instead of the one
in /usr/dt/config. Most likely the latter, because it's hard to
think up a scenario where Xsetup gets the Sun Ray additions
but Xstartup doesn't. If you have a local Xstartup then resync
it with the system Xstartup. If you must use a local Xstartup
(or Xsetup, Xreset) then if possible it's far better to have the local
version of the file *source* the one from /usr/dt than it is to copy
the one from /usr dt and then customise the local copy.

I'm assuming you're running SRSS on Solaris. It's usually a
good idea to mention which OS you're using and which release
of SRSS you have.
