Hi Mike,
Apply the latest Sun Ray patch and update the firmware on the Sun Ray.
There is a known issue with certain rev's of type 7 keyboards that it fixes.

I had an odd thing happen to me this weekend and I've been scouring
the archives this morning looking for anything that might help. Here
is my description of the issue:
Installing a *small* setup in Orlando for a gift-shop. Using an Ultra
20 in the back-room of the shop as the SRSS server. Downloaded the
latest version of SRSS 3.1 from Sun, but have not applied any patches.
They are using the Gnome Java desktop under Solaris 10 11/06 - no
patches applied to 11/06 either. Up front for the cash registers I am
using two Sunray 2's with Type 7 USB keyboards - PC layout.
One of the keyboards continually "locks up". That is to say it stops
responding to any input - this is easy to tell because the num-lock
light cannot be turned on/off once it stops responding. If I unplug /
re-plug the keyboard it works again.
At first I thought maybe it had to do with a screen saver or xlock -
so I turned off the Gnome screen saver and power management from the
user's desktop (Launch -> Pref's -> Display -> etc. . . . ) But no
luck. And it sometimes happens within 2 minutes of in-activity and
sometimes only after hours of inactivity. And it is only happening to
one of the two users when they appear to have the same settings. ???
Is this something simple like a bad keyboard? Bad Sunray? The only
thing I could find in the archives was from Bob from early this year:
It's inconceivable to me that, if you kill off
the xscreensaver and xlock processes, the session
would remain inaccessible. Unless the X server
itself is broken, which is highly unlikely. Now that
you know better what to look for, I strongly suspect
you can regain access to the session. Theoretically,
you may be running into the USB keyboard flakiness
we're currently tracking. If you kill off the associated
screen lockers, and still can't access the session, try
unplugging/replugging the keyboard.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Mike
