This is great news. I have been wanting to upgrade my system from Ubuntu
Edgy Eft (6.10) and SRSS 3.1 but I lacked the nerve.
Anything else at all that is different from the debian install (for a
nervous and very time constrained admin)?
Other than the extra symlink I just followed the debian sid guide. So far so
good.
I have noticed the keyboard issue (previous mail in this thread), and there
seems to be a problem with receiving mouse clicks on the gnome-panel.
I don't know if the mouse thing is related to the keyboard problem, but it
does not seem to respond to any mouse activity on the panel. So I can't click
the gnome menu stuff to log off or launch any programs. I was able to create
an application launcher on the desktop for a terminal, and from there could
work and test things.
The keyboard issue seems rather strange to me. I am using the sun US keyboard
which works everywhere else without problem (redhat as and solaris sunray),
and plugging in a standard dell usb keyboard shows the same missing keys. I am
not sure if the proper "solution" is to xmodmap define everything that is
missing or if there is a problem with the keyboard definitions given in the
howto.
If anyone has any ideas about what to do with the keyboard problems or the
panel issue, I'm all ears.
