I currently running a sun ray 2 and love it but with that said I would also like to see the multimedia experience improved. I'm not looking to connect external multimedia devices or watch dvd's via this device but would like to see improvements on the web front.

I just convinced my superiors to buy stock in this technology and we purchased 20-units; they work great running productivity applications but watching a video on cnn or youtube is terrible. I realize some of this has to do with flash but the viewing experience on the server and from the sun ray sitting next to it is degraded significantly.

So, I would also like to know where Sun development is leading us with regard to these devices. The LAN experience needs to improve significantly before these devices are truly competitive with other thin-clients on the market.

Well that's a fairly big gap from full multimedia support and cd/dvd burning support to stopping development.

I'd suggest that you contact your sales rep for a roadmap presentation. It's exciting, although I'm highly biased.

Curios though, would you pay the combined price of Citrix + a client capable of running all those features you mention for a Sun Ray? And would you want to upgrade said client every couple of years just like a PC because you now need more ram or a better video card to take advantage of the latest "features"?

Hi everyone,

as much as i like sunray solutions, i am wondering is sun gonna bring out syn ray v5 that can compete more with citrix and where you can get full multimedia support on the thin client together with local cd en dvd burning etc... Or are they gonna stop the development ?

Best Regards,
