The apache bit on the SRSS-on-Debian wiki page is a red herring. I somehow 
assumed that
tomcat needs apache. But that's wrong, tomcat can run as a standalone web 
server.
So you can even remove the apache (or apache2) packages, if you do not need 
them 
for something else.

What is 
   /opt/SUNWut/lib/utwebadmin status
reporting? Can you start it using
   /opt/SUNWut/lib/utwebadmin start
