Hi all,
i have started the topic "Graphic performance problems with SunRay
2FS" and i have
now a question resulting from this discussion and my investigations:
I found on our Cisco Catalyst 6500 switch many Runts errors:
Port Single-Col Multi-Coll Late-Coll Excess-Col Carri-Sen Runts
Giants
----- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- --------- ---------
---------
6/38 0 0 0 0 0
118107 0
This messages are only at ports, where a SunRay is in use.
Some weeks ago i started using a Cisco ASA5505 as VPN server for
SunRays at home.
In the logs i see this message:
4 Dec 04 2008 22:46:28 713903 IP = 91.x.xxx.xxx, Unsupported message
length of 0
Explained as:
%ASA-4-713903: descriptive_event_string.
This may be the result of unexpected behavior of a peer (for example,
a loss of connectivity).
I have up to 10 messages per minute like this, when a SunRay is in
use. (Remember, this is my VPN-Router for the
SunRays ..).
Cisco docs tells about Runts: "The frames received that are smaller
than the minimum IEEE 802.3
frame size (64 bytes for Ethernet), and with a bad CRC."
So in both cases are packets or frames to small.
What happend here?
Is this normal? Part of SunRay protocols?
Thanx for any hints!
Detlev
P.S.: At home am i using a Gobi 7 with MTU=1366 (default
configuration). But have also this messages
when i am using a SunRay 2 at home.
