Hi all,

thank you for all your help.

I have learned:

When using autonegotiation, you have to use it on both sides, e.g. on the device and on the switch.
Using autonegotiation only on one side of the connection is bad.

The SunRays are autonegotiation devices, so you have do use it on switch side, too. If you don't do it, the SunRays will run with half duplex and/or low speed and
  this causes errors.

On Cisco switches it is also good, to use the command "set port host".
This will enable portfast and other things:

switch> (enable) set port host 9/34
Spantree port 9/34 fast start enabled.
  Dot1q tunnel feature disabled on port(s) 9/34.
Port(s) 9/34 trunk mode set to off.

The graphic performance is now much better here. I have still to check
the UDP buffer problem. I am running the servers with GB ports.
I ask our NOC about buffer problems at Cisco switches and they
don't know any problem. And i don't know, which switches are affected by
this issue. At next downtime i will play with the GB ports ...

Thank you again.

Detlev
