Hi, I just received a call from a client who reported an OSD error (on
SR2) that I couldn't find in the documentation. He said it had a USB
icon and a flash symbol. unfortunately, we don't have the error number.

Most probably, it is number 9D. http://www.sun-rays.org/lib/sunsolve/77966.html says:

There is an over current condition on the USB bus, i.e., the total number of devices draws too much current. Consider using a powered hub.

I had the same problem with an external hard drive. But I didn't need to use a powered hub, a "split" USB cable fixed the problem.
