Yes, so far everything seems to work after the 9.04 upgrade. However,
one server is still missing to be upgraded. After that I can fully
report if everything works fine. Then I will also adapt my HOWTO guide
on the wiki pages accordingly. But the current experience is that
everything still works after the 9.04 upgrade.

Once I will have more time (later that year) I will try to do a SRSS
.deb package with postinstall/preinstall scripts and let it run
automatically and do the steps I have written in my 8.10 HOWTO. Then
hopefully everything will be more flexible and upgradeable.
