Greetings,
I've been using Xnest to connect to a Linux XDMCP host just fine for
several months now. The current Linux host has been running Gentoo, the
new one is running Ubuntu 9.04. My SunRay host server is running
Solaris 10. Using Xnest to connect to the Gentoo host has been working
flawlessly. When I try to use it to connect to the Ubuntu host, I see
two problems:
1) The mouse pointer is not rendered properly, if at all. It appears as
a 32x32 block of random pixels.
2) I am unable to open any applications on the remote host.
If I try to connect to the Ubuntu XDMCP host from any other Linux
desktop machine (also running Ubuntu 9.04) using xnest, everything works
fine.
Has anybody run into this before or know how to resolve this? I've
tried several different flags for Xnest which I thought might be
relevant to color depth or display options, but none have helped. Is
this simply a compatibility problem between versions? Any advice is
welcome.
Thanks.
Seth
