I understand that it could really be hard to follow the guide step by step without forgetting something. In addition, there is definitely more than one starting point for the installation as systems could be slightly different in case you installed the desktop variant of ubuntu or the server variant or if you did an upgrade or a clean install. That's the reason why I always thought about that it would be great to generate a single .deb package with embedded scripts which might do the job of installing and upgrading SRSS on your ubuntu machine. However, such a script/package isn't an easy job in addition to fighting with possible licensing issues when distributing these install packages. In addition, I never understood why Sun/Oracle doesn't directly support more different flavours of Linux distributions (especially 64bit installations).
