Just make sure what the space limitation is. Usually 10 mb, which is a combination of e-mail and web pages. It all depends on the ISP.
It is just for the incoming email. No mail servers that I'm aware of keep a copy of your outgoing.
Note that it'll likely take longer for you to check your mail each time, as the email client has to wade through every email you've gotten and decide if it needs to get downloaded or already has been downloaded. Depending upon your email traffic, that can take a while. (don't forget lists....)
And also note that it's better for you to save a copy of your own email on your own media. Your ISP's machine is also subject to HD crashes - likely more so than yours, as it's probably seeing a lot more use.
