Dear Tom:

Thanks for your help! My cd-rom drive is now working. Whew!

I do intend to purchase more RAM but read that in the S900 the sticks have
to be installed in pairs... Am I understanding that to mean I need two of
whatever RAM sticks I buy? (I don't recall a double-em-up rule when I
upgraded the RAM on my G3!) I'd like to go ahead and get at least 128 MB.

RAM Doubler will have to hold us until I get the new RAM.

The 2nd hard drive doesn't spin up at all and the Drive Setup utility
doesn't see it either. I see the fan case in front of it is empty, but
there are two working fans in the upper portion of the case.

I do have an extra external hard drive so I'm not too worried about space,
but I am going to look for the SCSI-Probe utility. That sounds like a
useful utility to have around.

All in all, I'm pretty happy now with it. It seems like a good deal for 4
bucks and one Sunday's worth of work. We won't be using it for the
internet, just word-processing and some games. My son is very happy with
it!

Bonnie
